Reagan Landry is months away from college graduation, but instead of excitement, she's frozen by the fear of letting go — of her ex-boyfriend, of the comfortable life she created for herself in Portland, of the years-long search for her older sister who abandoned her as a homeless teen. When she’s finally forced to decide what's next, Reagan is met with another complication — her ex’s best friend, Noah Burke, who seems determined that she embraces what could be instead of what has been.
Drunkenly hooking up with his best friend’s ex, Reagan, is a mistake, but being secretly in love with her is so much worse when things seem one-sided. A disenchanted frat boy about to fail out of college, Noah has been living out someone else’s dream after a horrible accident five years earlier. Just when he thinks he's lost any chance he has with Reagan, she surprises him by agreeing to spend the summer together at his family's ranch in Montana.
And suddenly what started out as a complication between them becomes serious...until the past starts ripping apart their future.

Noah has loved Reagan for about four years even when she was still his best friends girl. He saw her the first time outside of the library in the rain. He couldn’t do anything because of the bro code. Also they still live in the same house even though Beau - Noah’s best friend- has moved on and has a new girl. Then one drunken night and the lines start to blur between Reagan and Noah. Reagan’s dream is to get into publishing in NYC. Reagan had a troubling past and Noah had been scarred by sadness and trouble in his past. I really liked this story even brought tears to my eyes at times. The twists and turns of the story itself kept you glued to it. Then might have a chance with Reagan after all that time. I loved the characters also especially Noah and Reagan . Noah so true to his feelings even if he doesn’t know how to approach Reagan. Reagan comes across cold hearted but is only a defense to protect herself from being hurt. I loved the twists and turns Noah and Reagan went through. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.
First book I have read by this author, and I could not put it down . . . finished it in one day. This is a standalone novel with a HEA. This is the second book in the series, but I had no difficulty understanding the story having not read Book 1. I did just by the first book in the series and look forward to reading it next!
