Overview

Let's face facts: Most men struggle with what to wear, when. Although many professions and businesses allow for "business casual" attire, there are still a number of careers and social occasions which call for a formal- or at least personally attentive approach to dressing and presentation. In Anything Other Than Naked, author Glen Sondag provides an easy-to-read, yet comprehensive guide illustrating the basis dos and don'ts for any man attempting to put his best dress oxfords forward as he walks out the door. Based in personal experience and knowledge gleaned through a discerning eye, Anything Other Than Naked was originally intended as a style guide for Sondag's four sons to use. However, it has evolved into a narrative that covers everything for the reader to consider when it comes to exercising proper clothing protocol and etiquette. Some of Sondag's sartorial tips include: What to consider when purchasing a suit. How to combine the right suit, shirt and tie. Why your belt, hose and shoes matter. What accessories are appropriate for any situation.

Meet the Author

For the past 38 years I have had the pleasure of serving as a financial advisor representing a member firm of the New York Stock Exchange. My work puts me in front of people on a regular basis and thus I always strive to look my best. My practical fashion sense is a result of my mother's influence as an extraordinary seamstress. At a very young age I learned what most boys had no reason or desire to learn -- that being clothing construction and the characteristics of various fabrics together with a healthy dose of fashion sense and style It was from those experiences that I developed a lifelong love of clothing. While attending graduate school I furthered both my interest and knowledge by working at a men's clothing retailer. I am a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, and a former Captain in the U. S. Air Force. I have been lucky to have been married to the same woman for 41 years and we have four sons. We all reside in Chicago.

I couldn't put it down. I loved it! A true "soup to nuts" guide for any man no matter how skilled in fashion the individual may be. The advice and direction is precise, direct and honest. Mr. Sontag's personal life long fashion experience and vision billow from every page. Do yourself a favor and make this part of your personal library!

I would generally not read a book on how to dress, but my wife suggested it and I confess I got a great deal of useful information from it. It's an easy read, very practical and certainly not a foo foo fashion book. Lots of helpful do's and dont's.
