The NAPLEX® (North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination®) is the standard licensing exam that all U.S. pharmacy students must pass to practice pharmacy. It is an arduous exam that tests a daunting range of knowledge. Approximately 10% of students taking the exam for the first time fail to achieve a passing score. Preparing for the NAPLEX® by reviewing all of the material from each pharmacy school course would be overwhelming. A far better approach would be to study only the information most relevant to the exam, summarized in abbreviated bullet format—and that's what The APhA Complete Review for Pharmacy, 9th edition, contains. Key Features: • Top 200 drugs. Begin your NAPLEX® preparation by learning the generic and trade names for the top 200 drugs.
• Math. After generic and trade names, this is the most important single area to review.
• Drug therapy for chronic and common diseases. This is the heart of today's NAPLEX® and the subject of more than half of the 41 chapters in this study guide.
• Summary tables of the major drug categories. Drug charts, including dosage schedules and dosage forms, are provided in each of the therapeutic chapters.
• Three new chapters—Drug Information, Biostatistics, and Clinical Trial Design. An updated chapter on new drug approvals, indications, and formulations is also included.
• Review questions. All chapters end with 20 or more practice exam questions and answers as well as explanations that reinforce key learning points.

Editorial Reviews

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Adrienne L Au, Pharm.D(Temple University School of Pharmacy)
Description: This user-friendly review incorporates updated, relevant material in the area of pharmacy practice. The previous edition was published in 2010.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide up-to-date pharmacy information to assist pharmacy students who are sitting for the NAPLEX examination.
Audience: This is an excellent book for general pharmacy practitioners, pharmacy students, and foreign pharmacy graduates. It is also helpful for pharmacy technicians to prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam. Each chapter is written by experts in their fields.
Features: The book covers a broad range of material, such as pharmacy math, pharmacy law, drug information, sterility drug preparation, and clinical trial design. The best quality of the book is that it is easy to read, with a helpful table of contents, graphs, algorithms, flow charts, and key points to emphasize important facts. Multiple choice questions at the end of each chapter reinforce important points. Another unique feature is the appendix, which contains helpful tips for pharmacy practice such as lab values, drugs used in different disease states, and common drug interactions.
Assessment: This is an excellent review, especially for pharmacy students preparing to sit for the NAPLEX examination. It is also good for practicing pharmacists to keep up-to-date with current pharmacy practice. This edition has been significantly revised and updated, and features three new chapters on biostatistics, drug information, and clinical trial design.

    No CD included!

i bought the current, new edition of "APhA Complete Review for Pharmacy" because I thought there would be a CD included w/quiz questions (as previous editions had). $60+, and No CD! APhA is now selling the quiz questions on their "pharmacylibrary" website at ridiculous prices. They should mention this MAJOR change on the book's description.
