Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Sheila Myers
Apocalypse Law is an exciting and stirring story about a man and his son attempting to survive after a plague wipes out most of the world's population. I'm not really a fan of books that give in-depth descriptions of military type tactics, but John Grit does a wonderful job of giving those details in such a way that I was pulled into the action and interested in why and how the characters used their military training.
Amazon & Apocalyptic Fiction blog - Apocalyptic Fiction
"If there is a post-apocalyptic action sub-genre (which there may very well be, excuse my ignorance), the Apocalypse Law series would certainly rate at the top of the list!" -- Apocalyptic Fiction
prepblog - prep blog
Unlike some of the post-apocalyptic novels I've read this one is very well written with equal parts thoughtful reflection and fast paced action.--prepblog.

    Highly Recommended!

A farmer and his thirteen-year-old son are left to survive alone on their farm after a plague kills most of the world's human population. They have little food, but an absent neighbor, an avid survivalist, (who is probably also dead from the disease) gave them permission to use whatever they need of his cache of supplies. They also have a milk cow and chickens and their farm to plant crops come spring, but starving men from town come to kill them and take what little they have. They need to work the farm to keep from starving, but how can they when they are at risk of being shot down in their fields?

The story revolves around a father's desperate attempt to keep his son alive and give him a chance for a life when or if society rebuilds. The stranger who keeps coming in the night to take eggs adds an interesting twist to the story, and the ending is a reaffirmation of how good people should come together to help each other on their own with no government mandate forcing them to and unite against the criminal element. The father is charitable when he can be and swift to kill anyone who tries to harm his son when he has no choice. May every child have parents like him.

This is a Novella, or short novel, but way too long to be a short story and is written as a straight forward post-apocalypse story with a lot of heart. It's a great read for those who like P-A stories and anyone who enjoys a good story of any kind.

Engrossing book, tho short. Look forward to Apocalypse Law 2, just out.

I really enjoyed this book, I read fast and was finished with it much sooner than I wanted to be! Just found out that the next one in the series is out, Apocalypse Law 2 and will probably order it today. If you enjoy this genre, you'll be pleased with this story and John Grit's very believable writing.

The story line was great, but being a vet i could tell the auther has never been in the military, and got all his military info from recruitment videos. But i was entertained and read all three in the series as well as the "On the wings of love and hate" series.

Interesting tale of a pandemic plague that leaves a father (former Army
Ranger) and his son surviving on a subsistence farm some distance from town.  Although the dialogue between father and son can run on somewhat repetitiously, to the point of skipping, the overall story of survival and some action packed parts kept me reading.  This book is the discovery stage of how bad things may become before the hope for rebuilding may begin.  It is intriguing enough for me to seek the sequel.  It does not have the feel of a dominant ex-military man knowing more than anyone else.
