And The Dead Shall Rise. . .

Two hellish years. That's how long it's been since the hurricanes flooded the Gulf Coast, and the dead rose up from the ruins. The cities were quarantined; the infected, contained. Any unlucky survivors were left to fend for themselves. A feast for the dead.

And The Living Shall Gather. . .

One boatload of refugees manages to make it out alive--but one passenger carries the virus. Within weeks, the zombie epidemic spreads across the globe. Now, retired U.S. Marshal Ed Moore must lead a group of strangers to safety, searching for sanctuary from the dead. A last chance for the living.

Let The Battle Begin.

In the North Dakota Grasslands, bands of survivors converge upon a single outpost. Run by a self-appointed preacher of fierce conviction--and frightening beliefs--it may be humanity's only hope. But Ed Moore and the others refuse to enter a suicide pact. They'd rather stand and fight in the final battle against the zombies. An apocalypse of the dead.

"One of those rare books that starts fast and never ever lets up. . . a rollercoaster ride of action, violence and zombie horror." --Bram Stoker Award-winning author Jonathan Maberry on Dead City

"Gritty suspense. . .You're gonna like this guy." --Tom Monteleone

"A rising star on the horror scene."--Fearnet.com

joe mckinney had me hooked with dead city, and has cemented his position as one of my all time favorite authors with apacolypse of the dead. awesome new take on the zombie genre. any fans of the genre would be doing theirselves a favor by checking this book out.

The author takes you on a tour of a world where zombies exist behind a wall and like true Americans we become complacent about them, big mistake. The heroes are flawed, the vilians are misguided and the zombies are hungry: still it all becomes believable and you really cant ask for more than that.

I really enjoyed this book. I pretty much love any zombie book but this one does not disappoint. It was fast paced and you get to really like the characters. And, I almost think the zombies aren't the big deal about the book. It's about the people and what they do and how they handle stuff. But, there is still plenty of zombie stuff.

It is slow, has characters no one cares about, and frankly adds nothing new or exciting to the genre. The zombies are boring and the characters are just as dull. There is nothing good to say bout this book. From the wishy-washy characters to the "Preacher" raping people, the whole thing is just stupid and boring. Stay away.

This was good, i did'nt care for the ending. Left too many open ends. Theese people just drive off into the rising sun and then what, the zombies are still there, they are obviously too much for the military to handle, religion coundnt save them and then there could be a cure, i hope there is a second part to it. It was very visual. If you like death, mass suicides, zombies there alot of it here.

This is the second of mckinneys deadworld series after city of the dead. If you liked the one before then youll like this one too. Explains the origins of the zombie outbreak a little more than city of the dead did but it still leaves questions. Not agood acity of but still good.ss

The concept of the story was good, but it jumped around too much. I didn't get a good sense of the characters.
