You can predict the ending before you finish the first page...

While I enjoy short stories and don't mind paying a dollar or two for one, I was sadly disappointed with this one in particular from the get-go. The storyline was very simplistic and the ending was easily predicted. Parts of what little plot there was seemed to be lifted from at least one other novel I've read before and the dialogue was very basic. I was disappointed even more when I discovered that I paid $2 for 28 pages that was actually made up mostly of a teaser chapter from her book, Feed. The idea was appealing but the story fell far short.

    Short, but good

The Box is a very short story at only 13 Nook Tablet pages. This is a compelling story about a group of long time friends that get together weekly to play an "how will the world end" game. Only this week's game is different, and they need to decide how real the situation could be.

It is too short. A few more pages would have allowed for more character development. As it is, I do not really care about these characters or what happens to them. It is worth a read, though.

    And then...?

This is the great start to a story, but is it a story in and of itself? It was long enough to get me interested, but I felt kind of let down with the ambigous ending. I love the FEED trilogy, but was hoping for more from this story.

    Uhm...

I have read the first two books in the newflesh series and the short storu explaining them. All of those worth the money, this one not so much. To short to pointless and it has nothing to do with the serious, its a waste of 5 minutes.

This s a review of the audio book, "Apocalypse Scenario 683: The Box" by Mira Grant. This story grew on me. This tale grabbed my attention and held it. My chief complaint is the length of the story. It left me wanting more. Ms Grant teases her fans with just a smidgeon of a story with a large plot and a bold cliff hanger. The premise of the story is a group of friends gathered for dinner and game night. For the past fifteen years they had played the apocalypse game, where they plotted the destruction of the world. Could this scenario be more than a game?

This story is very frightening. From the moment I heard the music that set the tone, I knew this was going to be a very alarming experience. Cole is one of the main characters and yet she is present only in recorded voice. I do not want to share too many details or it will spoil it for other readers. It left me with questions. Do we will really know the people we think of as friends? Could they have secrets? What if we had to decide who was going to survive in an apocalypse? Listening to the voice of Cole gave me chills. How could anyone be so calm and peaceful discussing a scenario where the whole population could be destroyed?

Grant not only pens this tomb, she also reads it. Her intonation is perfect. If Grant can create this much tension and suspense in such a short story just think of what she can accomplish in a full length novel. I will be looking for more of Mira Grant¿s art.

    This is great

I needed more Newsflesh and this eBook was what I needed. I like how the short story filled the void until the next book.
