Meet the Author

Growing up during the 1940’s and 1950’s, in the Choctaw (McCurtain and Choctaw Counties) and Creek Indian (Okmulgee County) Nations of Oklahoma, with the spoken languages of Choctaw, Ojibwa, Spanish and English was an asset in my knowledge of story telling. A reporter for the McCurtain County Gazette told me, “Write down the stories and the things you have done in life for some day they would be useful in keeping the tales of the old folks alive after we all are gone.”

Working various jobs from cowboy and farmer to holding, the positions of Foreman of a bridge gang, with the Saint Louis San Francisco, Railroad and Command Sergeant Major in the Army, gave me the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people. Medically discharged from the military, I did construction work until finally being forced to retire completely because of my health.

Moving near Russellville Alabama because my children came to this area to work and raise my grand-children.

Now I live and play near the Crooked Oak community near seven of my grand-children. The older three grand-children have read all but four of my novels so there is not sexual intent or as much violence as on the evening news. I have written short stories, young adult books, free lance magazine articles, articles for several news papers and write novels about the tales of the old folks when I was growing up. In addition, to the twenty Western novels, I have written two mysteries of modern day times.

    Lilywolf

Lilywolf lets out a soft growl and meows, "Listen Velvetstar! You know nothing about abandonment! Fang abandoned my family! And do you wanna know why?! He abandoned us because he felt that the rogue group he joined were special chosen ones who were the only cats on Earth going to paradise, their idea of Starclan. They expected a great catastrophy to happen that would kill the rest of us and send our souls to the Dark Forest. My father left us thinking that we weren't good enough for Starclan and that we should rot forever in the Dark Forest! He didn't give a mouse tail about us! He was too worried about trying to save his own tail! And when the rogue group turned out to be wrong, he still claimed he had done the right thing and that he was better for it! He made our lives h*ll for seasons and we lost everything! I thank Starclan every day that he's gone now! But your brother left convinced he was protecting us! He is not like Fang, whose selfishness knows no bounds! He thought he was doing the right thing and that our lives would be better without him even if it ripped him apart! It was torchure for him to be away from the clan but he cares about us so much that he still resisted the urge to return! If that's not love then I don't know what is! And now that he has finally realized that we do need him, he has come home and all you can do is hold his good intentions against him! I completely understand not waiting around for a bad cat because they will only make your life miserable. Wolf and I didn't stick around begging Fang to come home. But you have to be willing to look at motives. Goldenstripe was trying to protect us even if what he did wasn't going to do that. He is confused and scared. But I plan on helping him get through that. And unless you think he's like Shadowstar then I expect you to help him too! He's your brother for Starclan's sake! Now speaking of family, I'm going to go look for Rosepetal. She needs to know that everything is going to be okay. And maybe when you realize how unfair you've been to Goldenstripe, you can come and join us. But if you're going to put my mate through even more punishment, don't expect me to just sit here and watch!" With that, Lilywolf stood and stalked out of the den. She loved Velvetstar but at the momet she was disgusted by how narrowly she was looking at the situation. ~ Lilywolf &hearts P.S. Lol you know Lily doesn't usually rage like that! XD

If I'm ever okay again, then it'll be years from now. I just wanna end it all, all the pain needs to just die and leave me alone. It's too much... -Opal &star

    Velvetstar

Velvetstar was silent and gave no sign of regret. She distrusted the both of them, but Goldenstripe especially she feared she viewed as the rest of her family: untrsutworthy and unreliable. "Well I guess that makes you better than me doesn't it?" She hissed under her breath as Lilywolf left. She'd already felt that way, as most of Horseclan perfered the tabby she since she was just more kind and open than herself, but for some reason it bothered her now more than usual. Velvetstar stood and padded out from the den, her tail lashing angrily. -Velvetstar- (Lol and Velvets like, "save it lady," haha!)
