Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sara Lorimer
Kasey and Kelly, identical twin girls, decide to play pranks on their family and classmates for April Fool's Day. They draw a moustache on their baby brother, tamper with the kitchen faucet so their mom gets sprayed, switch the sugar and salt at the breakfast table, and wear each other's clothes and sit at each other's desks at school. The dialogue is wooden, but most young readers probably will not notice. The lack of consequences for their pranks is a bit odd—it is difficult to imagine a father so relaxed about having to throw away his breakfast—but it is probably appropriate for the light tone for which the book is going. Children will laugh at the pranks and the slight tension makes this a page-turner for them. Part of the "Double Trouble" series. Reviewer: Sara Lorimer
