Arab Islamic Sufism...a research into the development of Arab thought
The truth of Sufism is determined by the presence of two main factors: the first is the direct inner experience of communication between the servant and his Lord, then the possibility of union between the Sufi and the divine power. The Sufi experience belongs to a special faculty other than reason and logic through which communication takes place and in which the self is united with the object, and in which glimpses and illumination take the place of perceptions, judgments and propositions. In rational logic, knowledge is lived emotionally, and its possessor is overwhelmed by an overwhelming feeling of unseen powers that overwhelm him as a flood of light, which is sometimes accompanied by exceptional and unusual psychological phenomena, such as the feeling of the presence of supernatural visions. There are many factors that contributed to the emergence of Sufism in Islamic society, including the asceticism that appeared among Muslims as a result of people's desire for this world and its pleasures, which distanced them from the essence of the Islamic religion, which urges people to work for the sake of their afterlife. This happened and grew after the expansion of the Islamic state as a result of the Islamic conquests. So money increased in people's hands, which prompted them to enjoy this world.
