This Arabic lexicon has been very helpful to me in the past. Not only does it contain modern words as well as traditional ones, it goes both ways (Arabic to English as well as English to Arabic, unlike some Arabic dictionaries out there). My only complaint is that, while it does show a Shadda over certain words where it needs to, all the other short vowels are left out. Fortunately, it has the English transliteration next to each word in Arabic, so that's not too big a deal. It is in alphabetical order rather than the tradition "root" form Arabic dictionaries normally take. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This was purchased for a college student studying Arabic who will be traveling to Jordan. She found it to be exactly what she needs for study and learning, especially because she could find the English word and then the corresponding Arabic.

I am an Arabic language student and have found this dictionary is very user friendly compared to others. Along with the Arabic/English translations there are also transliterations which make it even easier to get the right pronunciation of the words. Highly recommend it! :)Was this review helpful? Perfect if you speak English and need help with Arabic since the words are listed alphabetically in English. Most dictionaries list alphabetical by Arabic which is useless until you know Arabic. Get this one - it is the bestWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
