I've used other "for dummies" books to learn how to do something; you won't get that kind of knowledge here. This is an overview of archaeology that uses some of the words we archaeologists use but witho9ut clear and accurate explanations. It lacks any detailed examples of how to do anything -- survey, excavation, analysis. It's like a textbook that has no meat on its bones.

I attended a field school with Dr. White and she is the woman to go to concerning archeology. Field school with her was hard work, but exciting. I wish we had this book as our how-to-do guide. Good luck Dr. White!
