Archer and Armstrong, the Sect War, is a fast paced , topsy turvy ride through the sect. It starts off with Archer and Armstrong at odds against each other, due to a perceived slight from Armstrong (well, not so "perceived" as actual, from Archers point of view). Add to the mix Mary Maria is vying for control of the sect, and the sect factions are turning against each other, and you have a complex story. Some of the factions seemed a little too silly for me (people walking around with gold masks?) but the origin of the sect was entertaining, and given that origin, it made sense why there would be different factions in the current day and age. I won't tell you how it ends, but I didn't see the ending coming. Fred Van Lente continued to write a strong story, with great accompanying artwork. The complex plotlines continue to weave together, and Archer and Armstrong still remains one of my favorite reads. Honestly, I can't understand why this book is not more popular than it is! I do wish they explored more about Archers powers (does it have ANY limits?) but that might be saved for future issues. Archer and Armstrong remains a must read!
