    Letter to Mia

Three years ago, I received an e-reader as a present. Since then, I have devoured hundreds of books. Thank God for my e-reader; I would probably would have never come across Mia's books without it. I have loved all of Mia's books, but I do not believe my words could ever express how I feel after reading Archer's Voice. It has to be the best book I have ever read. I have never used drugs or been high, but I can imagine being high must feel how I feel after reading this book. It's been several hours since reading Archer's Voice and I am still in constant dreamy state, a feeling of warmth all over my body. I'm still thinking about the story and am smiling like a fool. I want to say thank you, Mia. Thank you for writing such an original, amazing, beautiful and inspiring story.

To everyone who has not read this book yet: Do so Immediately! If it's in your TBR list, bump it up now! Don't hesitate one more second. You won't regret it.

P.S. Who would have thought that a haircut could be so intimate, sweet, and sexy? LOVED THIS BOOK!

    Fantastic

I echo the general sentiment: this story is beautiful. This author writes superbly and manages to develop amazing characters who overcome their painful pasts while maintaining their humanity and hope. I often find myself skimming through boring, repetitive narrative in many romance books, but in this one the prose is sublime, and merges flowlessly with the dialogs. The hot sex scenes blend seamlessly with the storyline and add to the story, rather than feeling like add-ons. Cannot recommend it enough.

    A must read author!

Sheridan has a way of reaching into the deepest parts of people, finding the good but also the fears and the flawed things in us all. She manages to turn them into beautifully heartwarming, heartbreaking and sexy characters/stories that flow flawlessly.

Mia Sheridan just has something about the way she writes that sucks me in. If I sit down with one of her books, I’m not leaving my seat until it’s done. Archer’s Voice was no exception. It was, in a word, beautiful. I fear I may not be able to do it justice with this review, but I will try.
Archer Hale is the town pariah. He doesn’t speak, he doesn’t really have contact with anyone in town and he makes it pretty clear that he’s just fine with that. Bree Prescott ends up in Archer’s small town in Maine after she suddenly leaves her home in Ohio. She had suffered a personal tragedy several months before and decided to go back to the sleepy town in Maine that she had visited once with her parents when she was little and she was happy. Unsure of what she’s looking for, she runs into Archer outside the drugstore one night. She doesn’t know who he is, she doesn’t know his reputation. All she knows is that when she sees him something in her soul recognizes his, and she has a hard time shaking that impression of him. She finds out more about him through gossip in town. He can’t speak, no one really knows why, they assume there is something mentally wrong with him and are happy to keep him in the background. Bree is not happy with that. She seeks him out, feels drawn to him, and they develop a friendship that soon moves into more. But will Archer be able to get over his personal insecurities and a lifetime of being made to feel he’s not good enough to let himself be happy with Bree?
I just finished this book this morning, and when I was done it inspired my “that was magnificent” sigh. I rarely get that with a book, but this book took me on such an all-encompassing, emotional journey all I could do was smile and sigh when it was over. Every single book I have read by Mia is more beautiful and emotional than the one before it. I have loved all of her books, but this book touched my soul. I’m going to be thinking about it for days at least, probably longer. Archer and Bree inspire and rouse something inside of the reader that makes you so invested in their journey; it’s hard to explain. It’s part fairytale, part tragedy. It’s quite simply the best that this genre gets for me.
The strength of Mia’s writing, I think, is that the characters feel like people you could know, and maybe even share some of the same struggles as you, only on a much larger scale. Archer had a lot taken from him at a very young age, and through his journey we watch a man blossom, not only with the help of a woman, but on his own as well. He was such a strong, yet gentle, character. It’s usually the woman in these stories that is broken and needs to be fixed, but in this story it was the hero who turned out to be the more broken one. You rarely come across a hero who is this vulnerable, yet manages to maintain and even command your respect. Archer was perfection, but not because he was perfect, but because he was special.
Bree was beautiful because she looked beyond Archer’s outer beauty (and even recognized it in the first place). She saw him as a man, communicated with him as a man and loved him like a man should be loved. She was selfless and determined, and I found not one thing about her that was annoying or unconvincing. She had her own struggles, but was able with Archer’s help to put it all in perspective and move forward. He helped to make her picture beautiful.
Every time I read a new book my Mia, I’m reminded why Mia’s books have become the books by which I judge all others. They are so beautifully written and executed that it is abundantly clear she has found her calling in life, to create beautiful stories that make readers remember why they love to read. This isn’t just a romance, and it isn’t just a fictional book…it’s an experience. It may sound silly, but I honestly feel changed after reading this. And I feel like it might be a while before I can enjoy another book this much. Probably until the next “Sign of Love” novel comes out. I’d give this book a million stars if I could, but on the scale to which readers have become accustomed, it’s an absolute 5 star book for me. Thanks for sharing another beautiful story with us. Bravo. *golf claps*

When Bree escapes Ohio after a live altering tragedy she finds her self in the sleepy town of Pelion Maine – about as far away from Ohio and the demons of her past as she can get. It’s a reminder of her childhood, a sleep lakeside town that she spent time with her family at …. it brings her happy memories and she’s desperate for any happiness or even sense of safety right now.

When Bree runs into Archer Hale outside of the grocery story – just after her bag has ripped, scattering all the contents out onto the pavement, tampons and candy bars (smart girl) she wants to crawl into a hole and not emerge until he’s gone – but Archer doesn’t say a word – which makes the whole thing that much more embarrassing for her – it’s not until later on that Bree realizes why he never spoke and the town gossip of circumstances that left Archer that way.

We have two characters here not necessarily looking for love – but when life has thrown them to the wolves, and they’re just scratching at the surface to survive…. they find each other and the chance at love brings them back…..and gives them another chance at happiness.

There are a lot of back stories going on here – but they’re not muddled down and will keep you wanting more – I had to put my Kindle down and walk away at some points because I was mad, sad – and couldn’t take it.

But it kept bringing me back for more…

Archer's Voice was ... Gut-wrenching, heart-warming ... It is a story beyond just a romance, that will have you in its grip from the first page. Archer will steal your heart, make you cry and have you cheering! Mia Sheridan is a master story teller. She makes you feel her characters and their stories deep down in your soul. They will stay with you long after you finish the book. I couldn't put this book down and ended up finishing it in the middle of the night. It is everything a book should be and more. It is a book for everyone's favorite list...I guarantee it!

Mia Sheridan has my number. Every one of her books pulls me and takes me on an emotional journey that I never expect. Archer, what a sweet, wonderful soul that has survived circumstances that you would never wish on anyone. Somehow, through it all he shows us the courage to love and live life. Of course, getting to this point for him requires some assistance in the form of Bree. Bree is new to town as she tries to cope with her own tragedy. Somehow these two broken spirits find each other and begin to mend. This recovery is not easy as demons from their pasts have to be faced along with finding the strength within themselves and each other to move forward. We, as the readers, get to come along with this wonderfully inspiring and romantic ride.
