Kimanzi, thank you inviting me along on your journey. I love the part in Chapter 5 (Nail Down Your Plans) where you talk about how we don't need feelings, but we need habits.  I remember being in a place where I was just existing years ago and would have loved to have come across this book. If you are just existing and dream of more then please just click the buy button and start reading this book. Grab a highlighter, a pen, and a pad of paper and start mapping out your future with Kimanzi as your guide!

Wow, if you're dreading your job everyday this is the book for you. If you are looking for a life/career coach and seeking to truly change your life, this is the book for you. By putting in the work and actually doing the nine steps, you will get the results you are looking for! Everything Kimanzi was saying kept my head nodding in agreement the whole time. All the struggles that he talks about (dealing with discouragement, not feeling like working, old habits creeping back in etc.) were spot on. Kimanzi kept me engaged the whole time and I felt like he was my personal coach taking me through each step!

I've been a long-time fan of this author's blog and was not disappointed with this book. He clearly lays out a few major obstacles to his personal/professional happiness, and then he thoughtfully lists the trigger event and steps he took to change his life. The writing is accessible, his voice/tonality is relatable and his tips are useful. If you're tired of your current circumstances or situation, this quick read may be the exact catalyst you need to initiate lasting and enduring change!

Kimanzi really knows how to get people going. This book was a great read that gave me a lot of value. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a change in their life. In the nine steps he outlines in this book he shows us how to figure out what we want out of our life and make the changes happen. He talks through his work to make his change in his life to lose weight and move to Hawaii.

Excellent book.  Kimanzi explains clearly how to make a life change of living your dream and passion.  It is a gradual process, not an over night change.  He talks about setting short term and long term goals that are reachable.  Very encouraging for anyone looking to make a change in their life.  Bob Fraser-Life Coach and writer.

I have known Kimanzi for the last couple of years, and I can say that he lives the principles in this book. The main goal of the book is to help you take action to change your life, and I'm not sure how you could come away from reading it without being changed! The book is not long but the principles are incredibly powerful. Highly recommended.

An inspiring read. Kimanzi inspires us to stop just existing and start living. He has an incredible story how he moved his life in a new and exciting direction. This book is a down to earth read from someone who is  in the middle of living out his dreams.

Self-improvement books are often written by people who have already reached the pinnacle of success in their lives and careers. This can make it more difficult to relate to them. Not so with this book. Kimanzi Constable is still right in the middle of his ascent, from an unhappy bread delivery guy to a noted blogger and speaker. I have enjoyed following Kimanzi's journey since I learned of his story over a year ago, and it has been nothing short of inspiring to see him reaching his goals. And now, after a couple of successful e-books, Kimanzi has authored his first published book, and it is a must-read for anyone who feels stuck in a rut and doesn't see an end in sight. "Are You Living or existing? -9 steps to change your life," is the game plan Kimanzi has used to radically change his life-and now, you can take apply these experiences to change your own life as well. Kimanzi has a relaxed writing style (it feels almost like I'm having a conversation while hanging out with a friend) so the steps and the applications feel easily relatable to my own experiences. These are easy to follow, common sense steps that will change your life, if you will just apply them. And Kimanzi has written the content straight to the point. There isn't a lot of fluff, so this is an easy read, although he does encourage you to take time to make sure you are applying the steps before charging ahead. I hope you will take the time to read this book. You will be glad you did!

This book is a guide that will take you from step 1 to 9 and give you actionable steps to reach your goal. If you are not Living are you Existing? Kimanzi not only talks the talk, but he walks the walk. Hands down one of the best books with Action steps I've read this year. - Lincoln Parks

I have had personal experience with the man himself! I have seen first hand, when he gets an idea, he puts his whole heart and effort into making it happen. He wrote two books, while working a full time job, and taking care of his family of 4! He still has two more goals to go- moving to Hawaii, and losing weight and keeping it down. I have no doubt in my mind that he will accomplish these goals, sooner than later! Get the book, you will not be disappointed!

Personal experience is the best laboratory. In a quest to get his family out of doubt, and out of debt, Constable lays-out nine, rock-solid steps that have moved him from early-morning delivery driver, to sought-after speaker and expert. Quoting from the book: "It's time for all of us to wake up and start doing things that we are passionate about, things that matter, things that will make a difference in this world." I couldn't have said it any better.

I read Kimanzi's blog every week and I love it. His writing is straight-forward, honest, inspiring and often funny. He's not afraid to express his true emotions and fears, as well as his motivations and triumphs. Because I really enjoy reading his blog, I thought I'd read his new book ARE YOU LIVING OR EXISTING? 9 STEPS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE. First, what I liked. I liked that his book has the same encouraging, enthusiastic, honest, and straightforward tone as his blog. Everyone should have a cheerleader and coach in their life like Kimanzi! I also liked how practical his nine steps were. This is a clear, concise guide to how one man changed his life and how you can too. Here's what I didn't quite like. Of the three major goals that he brings up: leaving the job he hates to be a writer and coach, moving to Hawaii with his family, and losing weight and keeping it off, he only achieves the first one. I really wanted to hear how he made the move to Hawaii and how he lost the weight and the kept it off. I kept reading, thinking he would write more about how he achieved his other two goals using the nine steps, but it ended without an ending to those two goals. If I could give this book 3 and a half stars, I would. There's a lot to like about it. I hope that Kimanzi writes another book and tells us how he achieves his other two life goals!

Easy read but big league life changing steps to move you forward and change your life for the good.  If you are like me and need the actual how to steps/formulas to implement, then this is the book for you.  Kimanzi is not just talking theory he is writing from personal experience.

This book is laid out in an easy to read format that steps you through nine great steps to changing your life. I liked that I could sit down and read through a chapter quickly because it flows well and the chapters are concise, without a lot of useless fluff just to make it longer. I was able to read the entire book in a weekend and really go back through and lay out my plan to change my life. It's great to read about someone who has done this and is making changes in his own life and sharing the process with us.

Self help advice for the rest of us. I don’t know about you, but I don’t connect with some of the self-help Experts and Gurus out there. I know they do good work, and if their income is any reflection to the quality of their advice (which is what I’m supposed to think, I think) then their advice is worth its weight in gold. Yet I have a hard time peeling away the pounds of plastic and veneer of their presentations to find something that really feels genuine. I met Kimanzi Constable at a local conference last year, and he was just finishing this book, Are you Living or Just Existing. Kimanzi, or Z as he liked to be called, had finally reached the end of accepting life as a delivery driver, and was determined to find the life of his dreams. He was focused on a better income, a better career and a better outlook on life in general. His book, Are You Living or Just Existing, is filled with this blue-collar honesty as he talks about his journey, and the principles he’s using today to change his life.  Z is a normal guy, but he’s not average. He’s applying the advice in his book, not just talking about it. I’ve watched him travel from Hawaii to Israel talking to growing audiences, and I’m seeing the words on his pages come to life. I highly recommend Z’s book. It’s filled with self-help advice for the rest of us.

If you want to change the same old, same old life, than get this book. Kimanzi lays out a plan that you can take and actually use to re-direct and aim for those dreams you never thought possible. In fact, the man is living what he preaches.

Ready for a change?  Read this book! This is a book that all should read and then read again and take action with.  Kimanzi writes this book from real life experience and not just from a so called good idea.  He has opened his life up on the pages of this book as an investment into all who read it.  Thank you Kimanzi!  Blessings - Keith Spanberger

This book offers 9 steps to get out of the rut of "existing" and into a life of "living." If you want to make some radical changes in your life, the author teaches you steps such as, how to identify what you want to change, to focus on the "why" of your passion, and, to get more specific as you progress. The book is a fast read, but take your time and think about each chapter and how it fits with the changes you want to make. Sibyl White, Author of How to Ditch the Corporate World and Rock Your Own.

A lot of motivational books err on one of two sides: lots of motivation without the experience or lots of experience but little motivation or explanation of how the reader can imitate the author. In his book, "Are You Living or Existing?" Kimanzi gives the reader both: motivation and real life action steps. Pulling from his own life experiences as well as people he has helped, Kimanzi writes a passionate 9 step formula for helping people move from passivity to pursuing their dreams. I appreciated Kimanzi's transparency about his struggles with health, writing and business. He is honest and doesn't sugar coat real life problems and struggles. Yet he also doesn't let people off the hook. He teaches the importance of personal responsibility and the necessity of making a plan, taking baby steps and taking the journey with other people. While none of this may be new to readers, it is timely and for some people, it will be exactly what they need to move from doing nothing to having the encouragement and doable action steps to do something.
