Editorial Reviews

Wes Lukowsky
Kelly is the all-pro quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, Super Bowl bridesmaids the last two seasons. In this standard but entertaining as-told-to autobiography, he fondly relates his youthful athletic career in small-town (1,000 population) East Brady, Pennsylvania, as one of six children in a blue-collar family. He then moves on to his collegiate career at Miami University, where he became the first in a long line of quarterbacks to achieve professional success. Kelly then signed a lucrative deal with the Houston Gamblers of the now-defunct United States Football League, but when the league folded, he found himself with the abysmal Bills. Five years later, the team was in the Super Bowl. Kelly proves an insightful commentator on pro football, and his straightforward memoir should hold the interest of most gridiron fans.
