Meet the Author

Michael Calore was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where he and his twin brother, Mark, attended a parochial high school. Shortly following their graduation, Mark joined the US Army in 2001, while Michael attended a local community college.

Less than a year later, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Michael left college and joined the Army with his brother, who was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. He requested and received the same duty station.

Michael deployed to Iraq twice with the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry regiment, who fought alongside many notable units, like the 82nd Airborne, the 101st Air Assault, the 10th Mountain, and 1st Cavalry Divisions.

After his separation from the Army, Michael earned an A.S. in Education, and A.A in Letters, Arts and Sciences, and is now pursuing a degree in English from Penn State University.

Michael still resides in Wilkes-Barre, and his writing has been featured in several local news outlets. To read more by the author, go to www.michaelcalore.com.
