Aromatherapyby Nicola Jenkins
The healing power of scent has been known for centuries from the traditional burning of incense to the use of scented flowers in Ancient Egyptian cosmetics but it is only recently that the benefits of aromatherapy have been widely acknowledged and accessible to everyone. One of the most popular complementary therapies, it is employed by orthodox practitioners, hospitals and commercial enterprises, as well as specialist therapists, masseurs, beauticians and healers. Safe, effective and enjoyable, it is ideal for home use.
An Introduction to Aromatherapy covers the basic principles behind treatment, learning how to blend essentials oils and different methods for using the oils. Divided into sections from top to toe the book addresses many common daily ailments, emotional and stress-related conditions, as well as more serious illnesses, listing appropriate oils and methods of use for each. Step-by-step massage sequences are also included for different parts of the body, such as the face, the back, the neck and shoulders, and the legs and feet, ensuring the reader makes the most out of the powerful healing scents nature has granted.
