This is a well composed, comprehensive book for helping to expand your knowledge base as you learn to work with Photoshop's powerful features. It offers instruction on everything from typography, perspective, advertising art & design, to cool digital photo effects. The book takes you through the various procedures as you learn to work with adjustment layers, masks and filters as well as how to apply neat photoshop effects to text. All 41 of the fonts used in the various chapters are included on the attached CD along with photos used in each project. A great reference book to have on hand.

This book by Steve Caplin is very usful as a tool to set off new design and artisic concepts. For confessing in the intro as to not being a "trained photographer or an accredited designer", I am impressed with his good taste in overall design. He also has designed this book so an artist/designer can take his initial idea and expound on it further to work for their particular purposes. I've been a graphic artist for over 30 years and although there were some chapters I found elementry, there was a lot of material that I have applied to jobs and a lot of "food for thought". Great helps tool for any Graphic artist/deigner regardless of your level of expertise.
