We bought two sets for our 9 and 11 year old granddaughters. They were immediately drawn into making spiral designs and spent a long weekend on the design process, while we were visiting. They were not interested in the mathematical introduction to spirals in the instruction manual but studied carefully the illustrations of designs. Bright colors of pens in the sets were appreciated. It was not immediately apparent that we needed to pin down the outline shapes. A quick summary instruction sheet would have been helpful. Successful gifts for our purposes!

There are no instructions on how to use this. I know we will figure it out, but now I have to spend them time looking for instructions. Would not purchase.

This toy or gadget has gears that were difficult to place together in order to get going. They're much too small for young hands, and I, as an adult, couldn't get them to come together with ease. Didn't make ONE design work. I'm sorry I purchased this one!
