Most of this CD is from June 12, 1957, a period of time when pianist Art Hodes was not recording all that often. Four selections are piano solos, four others have Hodes in a trio with bassist Truck Parham and drummer/washboard player Freddy Moore, and three selections have trumpeter Freddie Greenleaf, trombonist Dave Remington, and clarinetist Bill Reinhardt making the group a sextet.
