Overview

This application is recommended for ages 4+.

Art Museum Match'Em Up HD is great fun as you match paintings from famous artists while classical music plays in the background. You will get to learn the titles of the paintings, the painter and to recognize the actual paintings in this matching game that lets the imagination fly. Each game consists of 4 rounds. In round 1 you match the paintings and learn their titles and the artist names. In round 2 you match the painting to the names of the artists. In round 3 you match the paintings to the title. The final round is all words as you match the titles with the artists.

Each game randomly uses different paintings from a total selection of 43, but will use the same paintings through all 4 rounds. This enhances the ability to learn that set. The more you play the quicker you will get. You can also set it to just painters and titles in word only mode and there are 3 levels of difficulty each presenting more paintings per round.

Features:
Matching of either 8, 12 or 18 paintings, artist names and titles across 4 rounds of play.
Great background music and sound effects.
Fun and educational at the same.
A point system that gives bonuses for extra concentration.
3 different levels of play to increase the difficulty as you learn.
Word only mode if you just need to focus on artists names and title only.
Gallery mode to view all of the paintings so you can study and learn those you don't know.
Head 2 Head system for 2 players at once in fun turn based game. This is great for siblings, parent/child and among friends.

Smarter in art than everyone I know!

It made me smarter in art stuff, now i know that starry night was painted by van gogh orthe grand canal by turner. Awesome huh? I'm smarter in art class although it can be a bit challengeing, I like it. Quite fun.

    Great game!

This game is great- similar to Thomas Hoving's book, Curator's Games ( pretty sure that's the title anyhow). My only complaints are these:
There should be some way to track your statistics, but there's not.
There are some glitches- particularly when you go faster than the game, often for the last match of the round; also, when there's two pieces by the same artist, it doesn't register both selections of the artist's name to each picture, so you can get it right but not have it count.
Finally, I wish there were more pieces of art than they have! It's fun, and you really do get to know the artists/works. Great free app!

    Good idea but limited play

The idea for this is good but you quickly run out of new paintings/artists to learn.

    Fun

I enjoy playing this over and over. The variety of paintings make it interesting, and I end up learning things. Painless learning! Would be better if there were more paintings added.

It's a nice little matching game to keep your mind busy and to get to know different paintings to the artist. However, it would be nice if it would show the paintings with the artist name a little longer and Grant Wood is spelled incorrectly for "American Gothic".

    D

Would be a good game for art buffs. Otherwise, it's as fun as taking a driving test. Music gets old after a while. Not for me.

3.It can be two or one player.

    Nice, educational art game

Pros: dozens of famous works to learn, different classical songs play in background, four different rounds that vary in difficulty, great for kids 5+ -- Cons: works are small and there is no gallery for browsing them at your leisure, no pronunciation of names/artists for kids learning about art, the settings are a little hard to navigate, no easy quit button to make sure game shuts off (music continues) -- overall, a great, FREE app!

    So helpful, fun, & easy!

They use an intriguing combination of the art, the artist, & the titles of works to help you remember them all.

    Fun art education

This is a fun way to learn different paintings and artists. Different levels of difficulty. I would like to see more paintings, but it is free, so can't complain.
