    Great book!

Amazing book, I did not buy it before when I looked at it because my photography knowledge was not that extent, because of that I could not understand the diagrams that explained how the pictures were taken. Now that I have more knowledge, I wanted to have a great book for reference, a real good book to go back to and make everything I have learned about good photography come back in a flash just by looking at those set-up diagrams. There are probably not enough words to describe how good this book it is to me, it is like having a personal instructor at home.

Great Guide For Setting Up Portrait Lighting

Marty discusses the nine different types of lights that he uses and gives examples of their impact on the picture. The lights include a main light, fill light, form fill light, hair light, background light, accent light and separation light. The discussion includes the setup and placement of each of these lights. With this discussion alone you can start to develop your own lighting configurations. He then gives over 3 dozen examples which combine part or all of the nine lights for use in shooting bridal portraits in both studio as well as on location settings. The examples include complete lighting diagrams and settings for the flashes so that it is easy to replicate the effect he shows in the picture. This is a guide I expect to refer to frequently and is strongly recommended for anyone wishing to learn more about portrait photography lighting.

Great reference tool for every professional!

'The Art Of Bridal Portrait Photography' hits a home run with regard to providing all professional portrait/wedding photographers with a reference tool guaranteed to help them master the techniques of their art form. As an owner of a professional photographic processing lab and very active within the industry community, I would (and will) highly recommend this book to the photographers who use our lab in the hopes it will make my processing and finishing efforts much easier! Specific approaches to lighting and posing techiques are critical towards providing the client (subject) with the perfect image they are looking for. Marty Seefer's experience in the studio clearly reasonates throughout the material in a concise and understandable way. This book is a must for professional photographers striving to enhance their fundamentals and creativity. I am sorry five stars is all I can give for a rating of this title!!
