Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"That The Art of Frozen is a visual treat goes without saying. There is the splendid art: the original sketches, concept paintings, storyboards, backgrounds, maquettes, and finished art; each piece identified to its artist. There are the photographs of mid-19th century Norwegian architecture and costumes used for art reference. There are the informative comments by the production staff. But more than most art-of books, The Art of Frozen describes the thinking that has made Frozen almost imperceptibly different from all of the other modern animated features.
The Art of . movie books are usually for those who have seen the movie. The Art of Frozen is so insightful as to what makes a good animated theatrical feature that even if you have not seen Frozen...you should really study this book. Don't just read it; study it!"

*Elsas POV* As we ran i thought 'we're dead. So very very dead.' But we made it to the house. Mother knocked on the door and an elderly lady opened it. "Yes?" She said. "Please ma'am," Kristoff said. "Hans of the southern isles is chasing us." The woman frowned, shook her head and said "No. I can't have wanted people wandering my house." This is where i stepped in. "Goodfrau," i said. "Oken sent us." The woman grinned as is we'd given her a present. "Okey! My baby Okey!" She said. "Come on in." We went in, shut and locked the door behind us, and then heard a pounding on the door. "Open up in the name of Hans!" They had found us again. SORRY THIS ONE IS SO LATE. THE LAST PART WAS ON FROZEN: ELSA AND ANNA: A WARM WELCOME AND THE NEXT PART IS ON ELSA AND ANNA: MEMORIES OF MAGIC. G'DAY!

This is a very nice book that contains a variety of artwork from the movie "Frozen". It would make a nice gift for fans of the movie. If you have young kids who love the movie, they might enjoy looking through this book (which is full of colorful imagery). It should be noted that the book does not focus on the main characters in particular - they are included, but much more artwork is dedicated to the design of the locations, props, and minor characters. What's included: - Drawings / CG Models of Elsa, Olaf, and other characters - Costume & Fabric concepts - Design of the Trolls - Conceptual Artwork of locations, the town, the castle, etc. - Variety of digital paintings of Snow/Ice

Great book for any Frozen fan, or anyone interested in art or animation at all for that matter. Filled with beautiful concept art and storyboards from all stages of production as well as written insights from the author about the significance of the elements described to the movie, and quotes from and about the animation as well as story teams, this book will take you through the making of Frozen like no other.

I give it a 3 star, I mean it has great work and tells alot about the inspirations for the film but I wasn't happy with it, I was pretty disappointed with it actually. There wasn't alot of art concepts of the characters.....Im not trying to be a hater but it stinks not seeing alot of drawings or sketches in the art book, especially if your an artist. The tangled Art book was completely satisfying because it had so many beautiful concept art and sketches. The frozen art book has very little! But other than that its a nice art book to read for information on the film. I would recommend (*if your an artist*) to not waste your money on this, you can find all and more, let me repeat MORE, of these sketches and concepts online.
