What People Are Saying

Robert Leonhard
This is my first book, and I believe the relevance of the topic grows daily. The armed services are struggling with the exciting challenges of Information Age warfare, and in this book, I emphasize the dangers of attrition thinking and orient the reader toward dislocation as a superior way toward defeating the enemy. Enjoy!

Briarstar, you have successfully joined the National Clan Registry (or if you didn't someone else did it for you). Now I need to ask you a few questions to complete the registration process. I will use the information to promote your clan.

    Simple excellence

A must read for students of military tactics, theory and history. The author does a remarkable job of explaining maneuver warfare in simple but compelling examples. The book does what doctrine and field mannuals fail to do. The book explains defeat through preemtion, disruption and dislocation (time, space and capabilities). Military leaders gain appreciation for the purpose (or desired aim) of our doctrine and how to apply maneuver warfare into tactical operations. With out a doubt a must read for military leaders and government policy makers.

The definitive work on maneuver terms and principles

The first half of this book is priceless (even if the second half becomes dated). This book gives names and clear and concise definitions to normally obscure and vague ideas. Although I disagree with some of the conclusions, this is a complete dictionary, encyclopedia, history and bibliography of maneuver warfare that anyone can understand and everyone should read.
