A New Way to Look At Art

i thought i knew everything there was to know about art until i pick up this book. unlike other art books this one looks to the artists' lives for clues about their work. each of the five chapters is filled with dramatic stories i'd never heard before! it's a great read, and filled with beautiful pictures of the art work and the cities where they were made. even if i never make the suggested trips, i am sure i'll pick up this book again and again!

    I Also Recommend:

    great book!

each of the five sections, detailing the five painters, is richly illustrated and very informative about the artist, the paintings, the city and has great recommendations for dining/hotels/transportation. you can take this on the road with you or use simply as a reference. the book also lists websites that will further explore each painter and their art.
    highly recommended.
