Editorial Reviews

This must-have, 192-page compendium of all things Fowl contains two brand-new Artemis Fowl short stories; special coded messages from the Fairy Book for young readers to decipher; and nifty descriptions and diagrams of Foaly's greatest gadgets.
Publishers Weekly
The paper-over-board The Artemis Fowl Files supplements Eoin Colfer's bestselling series, taking readers back to Holly Short's early days in the agency, where she works in Traffic and helps Captain Root defeat his villainous brother, Turnball. "The Seventh Dwarf" details LEPrecon's pursuit of Mulch Diggums and Artemis Fowl, who seek the Fei Fei Tiara. Sandwiched between the stories are pages describing Fairy Code and the Gnommish alphabet, interviews (including Colfer), a crossword and more. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-No, this is not a sequel to the previous titles; it's a companion book. It includes two original short stories, one a prequel to Artemis Fowl (the first) about Captain Holly Short and how she became a member of the LEP, and the other a story about Artemis looking for the Fei Fei Tiara (Seventh Dwarf). In it, readers see Mulch working with Artemis for the first time. There are also games; readers can practice fairy code, learn the gnomish alphabet, do a crossword puzzle or a find-a-word (the latter may cause problems in libraries). Finally, they can read interviews with Artemis, Captain Short, Butler, Mulch Diggums, Foaly, Commander Root, and the author. With the write-in caveat in mind, this volume will give all of those Fowler fans something to read while waiting for the next book.-Saleena L. "The Artemis Fowl Files" is a good book! It is fun to read and helps you to get to know all the characters a little more! The short stories are cool to read because one of them takes place in between some of the other books in the series. It is a definite great read for any Artemis Fowl fan!

This was such a good book! There are a couple short stories in it, and in one of them Artemis is so sweet and kind, I just wanted to hug him. ) AF is one of my favorite series.

When I first heard of this, I was expecting a cheap exploitation of Artemis Fowl fans, but being a fan myself I still had to get it. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a great book and a real page-turner. I'm glad I bought a copy and you will be too.

This was just what fans everywhere need. Games, info, short stories, a decoder, and messages to desipher. I loved it. It was funny and witty and answered a lot of questions-asked and not asked.

The title says everything. Indeed, why? Be SURE to read this if you're planning on reading The Atlantis Complex.

This is a fantastic book, but what else would you expect from Artemis Fowl. You will keep turning the pages and won't be disappointed for a second. Worth every penny!

I have read all three of the other Artemis Fowl books, and when I saw this had come out, I figured it was one of those books authors put out just to make money and keep readers happy while they write the next book in the series. But this Artemis books, liek all the others, completely stands on its own as a humorous, engaging book that I personally could not put down. I LOVED THIS BOOK!

This book provides an unique story-line that relates to the other books in the series. I'm sure that everyone who has read this franchise of books, knows the characters, but for new comers it's very simplistic to comprehend, and get to know the characters and what their roll in the story is. Although you do not know what happened to them before this story came along, I'm sure you can comprehend what it was like. People of all ages could read this book, it seems lie a very good book, and is not very graphic but is a little. So in conclusion this book provides a unique story-line and explains the characters very well.
