Artist Marketing Boot Camp
In the first session of the Artist Marketing Boot Camp series we will discuss the top 20 mistakes made by artists when presenting their art on the Internet with their website.
For this series we will assume that you are a good artist who wants to get better gallery representation, be a participant in more exhibitions and obviously be an artist who wants to make more art sales. If this does not describe you and your professional ambitions in the art business, then you are dismissed from this Boot Camp.
In today’s session we will discuss how an artist can present their art properly with their website. If you are unwilling to invest the time, effort and money (I am not talking about a lot of money here) in a good art website, you will have a difficult time converting your visitors to buyers of your art. Your website cannot make sales for you, but your website can chase visitors away if it is not designed and functioning properly. And if that is the case, all your efforts for creating interest in your art and driving traffic to your website will be wasted.
Next to your art, an artist’s website is one of the most important tools that an artist can have to generate interest in their art. If your website is poorly designed and difficult to navigate, you will lose your visitor’s interest, create a high “bounce rate” and eventually lose art sales!

John provides art marketing advice, coaching and training to new and emerging artists who are unhappy with the amount of art that they have sold and who want to increase their exposure and their art sales through an agressive art marketing program.

John also operates an online art gallery which conducys monthly themed art competitions, art contests and art exhibitions for new and emerging artists on a worldwide basis.

He is also a successful art photographer who specializes in providing art to the corporate art and hospitality art markets. John has exhibited his art in over 85 group and solo exhibitions in the last 4 years.

John R. Math believes that most artists should conduct, market and operate as any small business would. He states that "most artists do not operate and market themselves and their art in the way that they should in the hope that someday that they will be discovered. Whereas he believes that it is the artist who must be the one who discovers where and markets to the art buyer in order to be sucessful."
