In the movies, it’s known as a “meet cute.” But for Inspector Alleyn and Miss Agatha Troy, it’s more like irritation: On the ship back to England, she finds him tedious and dull; he thinks she’s a bohemian cliché. They may be destined for romance, but there’s a murder in the way: No sooner has Alleyn settled in to his mother’s house, eager for a relaxing end to his vacation, then he gets a call that a model has been stabbed at the artists’ community down the road. Dont know about reissus or reprints one of the few authors who dont let a married detetectives wife spoil the plots this is about an artist group with a killer and there is no proof even at the end may be no way to get a vertdc for lack of evidence no lovers happy ending here wait till Death in White Tails for engagement Not sure of wedding but p g mentioned in Sparkling Cyanide She will have almost two mysteries of her own both times while painting portraits and in another painting a murderer who gets away with it marvelous different all of them and detective not always a part untill final third. These are always a good re read and have most in s c buska
