The cover project is my very favorite. The torch fired enamel cage beads are so whimsical. I find making the cage beads addictive. Sharilyn's creativity has reached far beyond twisted wire. As in all her books the instructions are easy to read & understand and the photos are great for us visual learners. Personally I think everyone should have their own dolly pendant. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I have owned a bunch of jewelry making literature but by far Sharilyn's books are one of the best. I first purchased her Wire Art Jewelry Workshop and right away I was transformed from a conservative beader into a more creative and "think out of the box" type of jewelry maker. The Art Jewelry IV is an awesome addition to my library and an integral part of my design making now a days. The book is filled with colored step by step photos with detailed instructions that only Ms. Sharilyn Miller can make it so easy to understand. She gives you the basics of all the designs and encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and explore your own creativity. I love, love, and love how she introduces knew ideas in wire looping so simple to do yet creates so much elegance and helps you achieve a one of a kind, authentic handmade feel to your product. I have been making so much jewelries right now that my family and friends will surely enjoy their gifts this coming Christmas! Both beginner and expert jewelers will find this book tremendously helpful and well worth the money. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. She explains each step, does not leave out any steps, and even puts in extra details so that you learn how to create very professional jewelry. The projects in this book are unique and imaginative and help to build your skills as you create great jewelry. The projects can be adapted to using different metals, beads and color schemes. I love this book. I have several of Sharilyn's books, although this is the first e-book I've bought. But it is great. I can carry it with me anywhere, alsways have it handy to refer to. She is very thorough in this book. She covers all the different types of metal you might use, the tools and supplies. She mentions what are her favorites, but also lets you know whether it absolutely something you need or can do without. For the beginner that's great, since we don't always have the money to buy all the tools plus the supplies to make something. She walks you through making your own findings which really sets your jewelry apart, as well as new techniques. I've never used pickle so that was some great info for me. I love all the projects and the variety she show in each to make them a little different each time. I can't wait to get started making some of them, especially the cage bead bracelet. You can't go wrong with this book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Thanks to two of Miller's previous books (Bead on a Wire and Wire Art Jewelry Workshop), I'm at an intermediate level with my wire-work. This is the book to help me take it to the next level. Not that you couldn't begin here -- Miller's instructional style is very accessible and doesn't skip any steps -- but it does stretch in new directions from what I usually find in the how-to books.
For beginners: You'll find all the necessary starting information, including great stuff about supplies and tools. She even mentions particular brands and where to buy, which is helpful when you're starting out in something specialized like this. You'll also find good explanations (and photos!) of all the techniques you'll need to complete the projects in the book. The instructions cover a lot of ground, but they're well-written, so if you work your way through slowly but steadily, there's no need for even a beginner to be intimidated.
For intermediate/advanced artists: There is the obligatory section on making jump rings and eye-pin loops, but the early material is worth a read for insights into materials and techniques. Techniques that may be new to you include: Pickling, enameling, dapping, using a torch to make balled headpins, and applying liver of sulfur in gel form.
The projects are fun and imaginative, using a wide variety of techniques that can be applied to your own designs. You'll discover how to use not only wire and beads, but vintage buttons and even silverware to make one-of-a-kind jewelry items. Expect lots of step-by-step photos with clear instructions.
Note for those without e-readers: Don't let that hold you back! I read the e-book in a free reader available for the web browser. It's actually very convenient, because I can set my laptop on the worktable and coach myself through the instructions without squinting at a small screen or fussing to keep paper pages open.

This eBook has so many photos! I love it. If you want to make great jewelry I can't say enough about this new book. Even a beginner can make things, there are so many pictures it's easy. Just take it step by step. I make wire jewelry but there are also some enameling projects in here that are so beautiful. And you can make a silver ring using an old fork or a spoon! How much fun is that???Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
