Barnes & Noble - Ken Smith
Arvo Pärt's "Für Alina" inspired a musical revolution -- namely the composer's own break in 1976 from serialism to the "tintinnabulist" style that made him an international figure. Rarely has so much been made from so little Morton Feldman's PIANO AND STRING QUARTET comes to mind, and rarely do performers manage to weave such a powerful spell from reading between the lines.

    Exquisitely Beautiful and Serene

Less is more here. Simple and profound. I bought copies for the new babies in the family to listen to while they go to sleep and my friends while they're very awake. The sounds will be good for all their souls.

    Haunting

I love this CD - very haunting, moving. I have been looking for this ever since I saw the movie Wit with Emma Thompson. It captured her last days, hours of life so wonderfully.

    Vintage Part

This is a breath of fresh air in today's music world. A relaxing yet inspiring grouping of chamber instruments - piano, cello, etc.
