It has been years since I read this book and I still find myself thinking back on it. Pierre takes you on an incredible journey with him into a small village struggling to survive in the desert that took over much of post-colonial North Africa. With the youth abandoning their rural way of life and capitalism finding every unsustainable way to profit off agriculture, the earth was exploited until it became barren. The struggling village works to find a kinder, sustainable way to live off the land. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
