    So sad it ended!

Really good series. I was really torned between Sebastian and Max, I love Max' strong personnality but Sebastian was irresistable and wouldn't give up. I still don't know who I've chosen if I were Victoria! I had the impression that there was going to be a book with Sebastian, but it seems not. I'm surprise that these books are more popular!

    I Also Recommend:

Great series. Not her best book though

I felt as though the end was rushed and what happened with Sebastian was a little out there and contradicts what she made her whole series about. However, i loved the romance between the main characters and the main plot line. This series has hit my favorites and if you like a good escape with vampires, this book will do just good. Colleen Gleason isent the best writer but her story is really nice and had me staying up late at night just to see who Victoria ends up with. ;]
If you enjoyed this series or just want something good to read I definitely recommend The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost, The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R Ward, and Angels Blood and Archangels Kiss by Nalini Singh. Those are my favorite books 8)

A Great Fantasy read for grownups who long for younger days.

The author has remained true to both the cast and storyline throughout the series. This is a more adult look into the fantasy world of vampires and those that hunt them and keeps the reader interested and longing for the next book in the series. Sadly this is the last book in this series and creates a sadness for the reader knowing they will not be returning to this time and place. Colleen Gleason's Gardella Vampire Chronicles takes you back in time to an era that lends itself to allowing you to escape the trials and tribulations of modern times where cell phones and the fast times of todays society are overwhelming and the romanticism of yester year has completely vanished.

    A satisfying conclusion

I I really enjoyed this latest book of the Gardella Vampire Chronicles. I will say that there are some authors of the "paranormal" wherein I try one book and forsake in disgust, but I discovered Colleen Gleeson's series at the beginning of '09 and read each pleasurably until I finished the next-to-last, WHEN TWILIGHT BURNS. Then I had to WAIT for the release of this book. The Gardella Vampire Chronicles, and this tome in particular, are not the silly vapid chick-lit sort of vampire thriller that I avoid. They are well-written, convincingly set in victorian Europe, with enough action, intrique, and romantic allusions to keep you eagerly turning the pages to see what Ms. Gleason has dreamed up next. A fair share of sensuality. And, there are vampires...
I also recommend Laurell K Hamilton & Karen Marie Moning

This book is kinda diwindaling, though i am a big book reader, this book really didn't pull me into the "book". Overall i would read this book over again, it has certain messages that are subtal, yet in your face.

The latest Gardella Vampire Chronicles is as always an excellent Regency Era urban fantasy

Dowager Duchess of Rockley Victoria Gardella Grantworth de Lacy has decided she ha had enough as she is tired; not from hunting down vampires, but from playing a macabre dance of love with vampire hunter Max Pesaro. Used to taking charge, she will make a bid for his soul although she has some mixed feelings as she still cares for her former lover Sebastian.

Meanwhile the irate Vampire Queen has threatened dire consequences on those like Victoria and her potential lovers for interfering with her grandiose schemes of domination over the human cattle. Victoria and her mates know they must close the portal that enables demons to bring hell to earth. To do this they need to obtain five magical rings and an orb.

The latest Gardella Vampire Chronicles (see WHEN TWILIGHT BURNS, THE REST FALLS AWAY, THE BLEEDING DUSK and RISES THE NIGHT) is as always an excellent Regency Era urban fantasy owned by the Venator leader heroine. The story line is fresh as a much more experienced Victoria gains confidence as a chip of the late paternal block, but her self-assurance also flows into her personal life. Fans of the saga will relish Colleen Gleason¿s superb entry as Victoria attends galas not for amusement as she did a few years ago, but as a hunter (of vampires, Max, and considering Sebastian too). She has come a long way baby and so has this great series that continues to amaze.
