born of the snow and mountains by the star- child

Washed with the blood of innocents and wielding the dragon's flame,
he shall rise from the flames and strike at the hosts of hell,
and death shall be his guide to either salvation or destruction.

so shall they unite their people as one to follow the river of blood

Meet the Author

Robert Day was born in Newcastle, New South Wales. His family moved to the small town of Gloucester when he was 10. He was introduced to Fantasy books by a friend soon after, and from then on hardly a day seemed to go by when he was not lost in some fantasy land rather than doing homework or chores. Around age 15 he discovered Dungeons and Dragons thanks to his older brother Jamie, further fuelling his imagination. It was during a time when he had seemed to have read most fantasy available to him that he thought "How hard can it be?"The answer being, of course, "Very Hard!"Twenty years later, after turning what was originally one enormous manuscript into 2 moderately huge ones, he brings you Demon Gates, book 1 of the Nexus Wars Saga. This, his debut Novel, is the beginning of what will eventually be a 5 - 7 book series.Robert now resides on the Central Coast of NSW with his beautiful wife Kerri, 3 cats, and a border collie dog named Jasper.

    Now THIS is a sequel!

This is what a sequel is all about!

Picking right up where Demon Gates left off, Ashar'an Rising continues to follow the adventures of Valdieron as he attempts to fight the invasion of demons into his world. This story also focuses on other characters besides Valdieron, but those you have been introduced to in the first book.

Using the power of the pendant he was given by his mother, Valdieron also continues his studies to become a master swordsman and also starts to learn how to use magic.

The author does a fantastic job weaving multiple storylines together to create a well developed tale in a world brought vividly and masterfully to life. Descriptive settings, colorful characters, and well executed battle scenes leave you on your toes and wanting more! I found myself eagerly turning page after page, wondering what was going to happen next!

Robert, I eagerly await the release of the next in this series. Good job once more!

    Great sequel!

This novel is a little harder to get in to than the first. I found myself bored at first when reading the chapters dedicated to characters that I really didn't care much about in the first book, but as the story went on, those characters developed really well. Much like the characters of the wheel of time series, i can't wait to see what new adventures are in store for everyone.

An excellent continuation of the series. Answers some of your questions while creating more. I am looking for release date of third installment of the series but haven't found anything yet! Highly recommend this series but please read Demons Gate first so you don't miss anything

    So-So

The first book was entertaining but this one dragged on with miraculous predictable outcomes for the heros. There were too many misspellings and grammatical errors, pay attention and do a reread once in awhile. I'll probably read the next book because I think the Robert Day has a unique story line but no more if the third book is the same as the second

    Great story

    Ntertaining and riveting.
Looking forward to the ongoing story. There is quite a bit of action and I enjoyed it. Sometimes the story jumps a little too much and characters are cut short but it is such a large story line it will take several books to understand the characters we are introduced to but are not yet revealed or are cut out all too soon.

    Letdown

I loved first book, which was free-bought this sequel and was really disappointed. I'm trying to force myself to finish in case it picks back up but I really don't think I can.

    Avidfantasyreader

I loved the second book, but could only give it 4 stars. Way to many mispellings, which is odd as book one had almost none. Also this book focused more on mundane matters and tended to stay away from our hero Val. I understand there is a place for it in all multiple book series, however this droned on. There were parts i completely skipped as they really had no bearing on this story, and seemed to be added as filler. Maybe from an editor or critic saying it needed the stuff. Seemed like two different writers when the story revolves aroud Val, it was exciting and well written. When it revolved around the bit players, it was like a different author. Im defintly disappointed by this sequal, and felt letdown until the final 100 pages.
