As Good or Better Than the Images

I was first struck by the images by Gregory Colbert while perusing a magazine. When I saw the corresponding exhibition, Ashes and Snow, I was floored. The novel only heightened and added deeply rooted, even mythical, layers to my experience. This literary component of the Ashes and Snow experience is my favorite aspect of the whole. It is poetic, filled with longing, wonder and hope. If you are someone who can imagine feelings and turn them into vivid photographs and afterimages of your own heart's memories, I recommend this book and commend you.
