Asi Se Baila en Tejasby Tony de la Rosa
Tony De La Rosa was even more influential in conjunto music than Flaco Jimenez during the late '40s and early '50s. However, the 14 tracks on this anthology are important not for historical reasons, but because they're joyous, rocking examples of De La Rosa's flamboyance as a performer. His charismatic vocals, expert accordion support and jubilant presence on each cut make them appealing. This is significant music from a conjunto master.
