Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
This informational book on the continent of Asia is an easy read packed with lots of information for young readers and researchers. The layout of the book includes a fast facts section including information on the population, number of countries on the continent, names of those countries, and a map of the continent. Next, there is a map that situates the Asian continent amongst other continents in the world. Most spreads in the book contain a map illustrating what the text is pointing out. Other sections in the book include information on the land, natural resources, animals, and people. The different sections of the continent—Southeast, East, Northern, Southwest, and South Central—are shown through maps and interesting and unique facts about each section are given. The back of the book includes a map quiz, words to know (glossary), a reading list, and Internet sites. It is part of the "Continents" series. This book is recommended for schools and libraries. 2003, Capstone/Bridgestone, Ages 5 to 8.
