Ask Me Anything, Lord by Heather C. King is such a meaty, thought-provoking book. It is well intentioned and purposed in its focus of "Opening Our Lives to God's Questions." King's words, shared thoughts, and personal vignettes do well in teaching and facilitating examination. Her format is precise and comprehensive. Her requests, challenges, study helps, and Scripture citations were plentiful and layered.
While reading this book, I could easily imagine myself sitting across from King having a heart-to-heart Bible discussion. I am not talking about a light or superficial course, but a slice-and-dice, straight to the heart of the matter kind of discussion. This is that type of book. The kind of book that confronts you just as much as it comforts you. It is the type of book that is strong on teaching and solid on lessons. In my opinion, this is not a quick read book, rather it is a book that must be savored. The messages must be appreciated.
Easily, I could return to this book for a second, third, or fourth reading. In truth, I want to take it and do a class on it. King presented so many things that stirred me up and got me thinking. There is so much within the pages of this book that could be expounded upon.
At the end of the day, I know this, I want a hard copy. An e-copy is good, however, this book is a keeper and certainly it is the kind of book that needs to be held in hand, be marked up with notations, be colored in with highlighters, and be tattered by loving hands that flip, fold, or crinkle its pages.

Options: This book could be used in so many ways. It can be used for self-study, as a book club feature, as a Bible class series spotlight, or as a spiritual growth resource for congregants at large. It is an ideal read for women and men. I could see its content being referred to and used as a family discussion conversation starter or as a question facilitator among friends. There are so many possibilities.
A complimentary e-copy of this title was forwarded to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The words I have expressed are my own, and they are shared with you in the hope that you might consider reading this book for yourself. I was not required to write a positive review, nor was I compensated in any way for my review.
