    Awesome!

The instructions tell you, the shorter the phrase, the faster the app works. If you can break a phrase in two parts, this app works amazingly fast. I have a Nook Color and I am quite impressed. As an ASL student, this will come in very handy. Do keep in mind that some signs are regional and differ in different parts of the country.

    Good resource

This is better than my ASL dictionary. I work with the deaf and my ASL is limited. This is great when I am struggling for a word.

Highly Recommended. Well worth the price.

This translator is PERFECT for those that want to practice and learn Sign Language. The instructors in the video are dressed in dark colored clothing which makes the signing and finger spelling very easy to see. Even if the signing is fast (especially if you are just learning ASL) there is a feature on the program that lets you slow it down so you are able to see the movements. You will also find the "Common Phrases" located in the Library section of your Nook which was something I discovered by accident.

Some of the signs do vary, but according to my ASL instructor at college, both signs are acceptable and used within the Deaf Community.

Almost forgot, if you don't like screen and think it is small, they have a larger screen called "alternate text to sign 3" and it works great if you like to the video in the landscape position.

Hope this review was helpful to you.

    ASL Translator

I thought this was going to be a great app but only half of it worked on my nookcolor. The already planned sentences in sign the video did not play. The other half "text to sign" worked fine. I contacted the developer and he is figuring out why this is happening. He responded quickly to my emails. I give this a 2 stars out of 5 for the app itself but another star for customer service. I will also call and request my back from B&N.
