Truly inspirational.....a treasure to hold on to and read over and over!
A must read, Asleep in Jesus is a book for everyone.  What I like is Vivian's heartfelt description of how much her husband meant to her and how tragic his loss still is.  This remarkable  woman  has devoted her life to praising the Lord; teaching her children to praise and worship Him, and continues to live her life with joy in her heart,  It's a testimony to her strength for survival.   The scripture quoted throughout the book was inserted in just the right places.  We can all relate to the loss of a loved one; it's how we process the loss and what we do with our life thereafter that distinguishes us.

Asleep in Jesus has helped me to understand that I'm not alone when I pass through difficult situations in life. On Chapter 7 pg's 121-123 I found God's comfort reading Psalms 121 and the scripture "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever." John 14:16 Also, I found hope and peace on Chapter 12 pg's 134-136 reading the scripture "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27. Vivian, praise God He guided you to write Asleep in Jesus, by sharing your pain you have helped many to trust God and overcome adversities in their life.

This is a good little book for everyone who has experienced grief, especially from the loss of a spouse. The book has a compelling personal story of the author. She shares how God used her husband to bring her to a personal relationship with Jesus, then she experienced the death of her spouse. The rest of the book is about how God can comfort and help those experiencing the hurt of grief.

Following her own story, she includes some devotionals and other resources. All of these are good tools to help people learn from their grief and to draw closer to God through Jesus Christ.

I read the book and used some of her story as a sermon illustration to help people experiencing the trials of life. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. God can help those who have experienced loss, as well as equip Christians on how to comfort and help those in a time of need.

Throughout the book, the author tells of her story on how she lost a loved one, and how God comforted her and her family. The story and devotionals towards the end of the book brought comfort to me as I lost a loved one too. This book can help people understand a little better, the hope only God can give.
