Mit Hilfe des Assessment Centers können Fehlbesetzungen vorgebeugt werden und qualifizierte Mitarbeiter erkannt und gefördert werden. Jedoch ist die Durchführung eines Assessment Centers sehr aufwendig und kostspielig. In das Auswahlverfahren werden sehr hohe Erwartungen in die richtige Auswahl der Bewerber gesetzt, denn die die Entscheidung für einen ungeeigneten Bewerber ist für das Unternehmen teuer. Deshalb stellt sich die Frage, wie sich das Assessment Center von anderen Auswahlverfahren unterscheidet, wie es im Einzelnen aufgebaut ist und worin die Vorteile und Risiken des Verfahrens bestehen.
