    2011 New and Revised Edition

This newly updated book by Attorney Robert J. Mintz is an excellent guide to the legal specialty of asset protection. Mr. Mintz gives the reader a powerful insider's look at the way our legal system operates and the dangers posed to potential "deep pocket" defendants. Most of the chapters are devoted to particular asset protection strategies which are intended to shield assets from business and personal risks. The chapters on Family Limited Partnerships and LLC's include the latest case updates and explain how much of the traditional thinking about these techniques has become outdated over the years. The chapter on the Family Savings Trust covers a broad range of different types of trusts which are important for asset protection and estate planning strategies. Finally, the book includes articles written by the author which address specific issues such as protecting real estate assets, what happens in a lawsuit and the particular techniques favored by physicians and other professionals to protect against the lawsuit threat. Overall, the book is concise and comprehensive and will be valuable to anyone interested in learning more about asset protection.
