Newly divorced Laurie Harris has got to contend with her obnoxious ex-husband Phillip, her boring, meaningless job, a tiny cramped apartment, trying to balance being a working woman and the mother of a teenage daughter, and a non-existent social life, until Camila Salas Harris, Phillip's current wife, catches him in bed with his assistant, kicks him out, teams up with Laurie, and begins changing her life for the better.
