Asymptotic Modeling of Atmospheric Flows

Asymptotic Modeling of Atmospheric Flows

by Radyadour K. Zeytounian

Editorial Reviews

"Atmospheric flow" is, of course, the name of the stuff physically fundamental to meteorology. The present monograph, which contains a good deal of material original to the author, derives largely from graduate courses taught by him during the past fifteen years at the University of Lille. Thirteen mathematically detailed chapters, plus an appendix ("The hydrostatic forecasting equations for large- synoptic-scale atmospheric processes") and an elaborate bibliography. A very nicely produced volume, of interest to close students of theoretical meteorology. (NW) Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
