This was a really good book.  It was an emotional roller coaster, and it was hot.  The best of both worlds.  This book was also very well edited, no typos or misspellings. .  I also love that the story naturally ends.  You can read the next book if you wish, but the story you have is a full story.  Thank you.  This one is worth the money.  I enjoyed it.

** spoiler alert ** Five stars is NOT enough! I loved, loved, loved this story so very much!!Though at first I wasn't into the concept of the book but after reading the Synopsis, I thought it was intriguing. Different then most romances, this one focused on Emelia (Mia for short)a gamer, Blogger and proud computer geek who puts her virginity up for the highest bidder. With help from her best friend the bid is soon won by a very rich game programmer by the name of Adam. Takes her to many far away places before secrets come out that can rip their relationship apart. Can he take himself away from work long enough to see the hurts of the past is what Mia needs? Turns out Adam had been seeking her out longer then she first thought. A true love story at the core. Adam and Mia make a great sexy pair! Characters are truly believable. Cover looks great! I look forward to reading more by this author! A great read for all romance lovers! There is a lot to love about this book! You want this book, you know you want too!

EEP! So I am going to go totally fangirl over this book! I LOVED it! This is every nerd girl/gamer chicks dream! So I wont spoil too much, but obviously you have read the blurb, so you know the plot. It was so fun and original, and completely set this book apart for me. Not only was the storyline clever and amusing, but the characters were awesome as well. Adam was delicious, rich, and a total geek at heart, I soooo have a new book bf! Amelia was a total bad-ass blogger who is seriously cool with all her gaming and dork knowledge. I found her easy to relate to and strong, but not withought her flaws, which she has to face in this book. The secondary cast was great as well.  The steaminess was perfect. Just the right amount of love scenes for me, enough to tease and keep me interested, but not overload that causes me to skim by.  I loved Breanna Aubrey's writing style. She was so amusing and humorous, as well as bright and exceptional. Overall I was so happy to have stumbled upon this read. I could not put it down and read in one sitting into the wee hours! The story was not a cliffhanger, but Mia and Adam will get to light up imaginations again in two more books, it appears! I only pray they come out super fast while the story is fresh on my mind, because I am now impatiently awaiting them!

I enjoyed this book. I am not blown away by it like some books I have read and I am not sure if I would re-read it, but I will read the next in the series. I did not realize that this is the first book in a trilogy of books. To me this book could be a stand alone as it felt complete to me. So, even though I am not sure where the next book will go, I do plan on reading it. ENJOY!!!

I am not a gamer but I Loved this book. I skimmed some of the game talk. But the characters were wonderful, the story line fantastic, and the emotions a roller coaster ride. Very well written, can be a stand alone book. There was a nice ending.

I have to say it was a good book. I am not much of a gamer so I think it had too much video game talk. Good characters and story but I saw it coming at the very beginning.

I had to skip over some boring parts, but enjoyed the overall story. I don't think I will read the other two. I'm not interested in finding out what drama separates them and has them reunite in books 2 and 3. I love to read, but haven't finished a book in a while now, because they are all getting so predictable. This one was predictable, but I was at least able to stick with it to the end. This author could be really good if she had a good editor sifting out the tedius parts of the story.

I loved this so much! I was on the hunt for "nerd romance" and this is more than I could have hoped for! I love Adam. He is a gamer nerd workaholic who is a sweetheart (not atypical for those in that industry - ask this Game Designer wife how I know ;) ). He isn't without his flaws, but I love how he handles them. His intelligence, his sweetness, his humor and wit, his strength, morality... You seriously can't help but fall in love with him! He is firmly secured on my "book boyfriend" shelf. And then you have Mia/Emilia. She is also a great gamer chick nerd, her quirkiness being very genuine. She is strong, and stubborn, and fiercely independent (to a fault). I felt her reasons for still being a virgin at 22 are realistic and heartbreaking, and helped endear me that much more to her character. The sexual tension between these two is a slow burn and just downright fantastic. They push each other and make one another better. It's a great ride. From their first meeting, the tension sizzles, and then you immediately get a sense of how powerful their connection is. I loved how Adam maneuvered around Emilia's stubborn pride, and how she, albeit begrudgingly, accepted his help. They have such a great dynamic. The nerdiness was great - not over-the-top and not making fun of nerds using tired cliches. Brenna Aubrey shows a love and respect for nerds that is refreshing and fun. If you consider yourself even a little nerdy, or love a nerd, you will enjoy the subtle celebration of nerd culture. Doctor Who, Firefly, MMORPGs, Star Wars, Star Trek... That all said, this is also a wonderful romance. You don't need to be a nerd to fall in love with Emilia and Adam. They have so many sweet, and sexy, and touching, and funny moments that there is no doubt they are OTP! Be sure to sign up for Brenna Aubrey's newsletter to get a couple of unpublished scenes from this book from Adam's point of view!

I wasn't sure what to expect but I enjoyed this book a lot. The banter and tension between the two was perfect. Romantic and steamy in all the best ways.

Mia is a sweet lady who just wants to get their med school along with helping her mother gets through the trying times of cancer. She needs money and decides the one thing she has that is worth anything (as men have proven throughout time) is her virginity. It is high time she has lost it and makes plans to do so. One night with one man, who must play by her rules, she will be in control. She puts it up to the highest bidder with her friend’s help she picks the best man only to find she doesn’t care for him so much. She changes her mind and sticks to her plan only to find things aren’t as easy as she thought they would be. She finds that she might not be on control and that scares her as Adam shows her a thing or two. Adam bids and is the highest bidder he might be a geek but what a man he is. At first he comes across as a powerful man with an attitude. He changes right before your eyes you have a hard time getting a handle on who he really is. You are left wondering what his game is and if he might be playing for keeps. He is driving Mia crazy with his hot and cold reaction. He leaves us all guessing until his story comes out. This is when you start understanding Adam and who he is, it will break your heart that this wonderful man has so much pain in his past. Adam must overcome that past before he can truly find love. Mia just might not be around when he finally finds what he truly needs as she twist his life and leaves him standing on his head. I really liked how the author played this off with a women being in charge of herself and how things use to be along with women having no say over who got their virginity back years ago. The author put a lot of time and thought into writing this. Just how and when things would take place along with how things weren’t going to happen and the why. There is a reason Mia is still a virgin and why she doesn’t let anyone get close to her. She has a painful past and good reason not to trust any man. The one thing she has forgotten is all men are not the same this is a lesson she will have to learn and it looks like Adam might be the man to teacher that is if she doesn’t teach him a few lessons first. I truly enjoyed this audio and the story. I thought it was well written with maybe a little too long at getting to the deflowering. It makes it an interesting listen as the author takes you through many conflicts these two characters go through. The supporting characters were just as interesting as the main ones. The author keeps her cards close to her chest as she plays on each scene making you guess what is Adams deal or his issues. I look forward to listening to more of her books.

I have read all of this series. There is 3 books to Mia and Drakes story! This being the 1st book.. I had to write a review so you will know all three books are soo good. It is amazing love story. With many ups and downs. It's funny, romantic, sexy, and very emotional. I read three books in three days. Could not put down. I have never cried so much over a book. The author did an amazing job. You will not be disappointed!!

Probably would have been a good story except for the gutter language. Way too many f-bombs, couldn't finish reading it. Why authors think they need to put all that filthy language in is beyond me.

Mia believes that being a virgin is simply an inconvenience. She doesn't agree with the connotation of being a virgin and she will be more than happy when that part of "growing up" is done and she can focus on more important things in her life. So she decides to auction her virginity off to the highest bidder. Her bestie helps with drawing up a contract that includes several stipulations, the very most important being this is a one night situation ... nothing permanent will come from it and she will not have contact with the highest bidder after the act is over. Little does Mia know that this one little auction could change everything that she thought she knew and everything she thought she was. The idea behind this book was quite intriguing ... auctioning off your virginity? Pretty interesting. You know, this is the first book I've read by Brenna Aubrey and it most definitely will not be the last. I really enjoyed just about everything about this book except one thing, but I'll go over all of that later. The characters were some of my favorites that I've read this year. I felt an instant connection with Mia and her best friend Heath. I could understand where she was coming from due to her background and I found myself being super empathetic to her situation. Actually, I think that I enjoyed Heath's character about as much as I enjoyed Mia's. I'm really hoping that there is maybe more about Heath in the following novels ... it would be disappointing if there weren't because I would love to read more about this interesting fellow. Now on to the hero of the story ... Adam Drake. Dear, sweet, Adam Drake. Without giving away any spoilers ... the first scene with him in it is PERFECT. I just died and I knew that he's one of my favorite leading males of all bookish times. I just really liked everything about him and I hate to say anything more because you just need to experience this interesting man for yourself but I'll just say this ... you won't be disappointed and you better have room on your book boyfriend list for this dude because he will most definitely be on it. The storyline was fast paced (thank you, very much!) and it kept my attention quite well. Actually, I just chewed this book up like some ADHD riddled weed-eater. I was completely useless at home ... dishes didn't get done, laundry was piled up ... I was a total waste of space for about a day. But it was completely worth it!! I'll read this one again and probably soon.

At Any Price is the first book in the Gaming the System series by Brenna Aubrey. It is a full length novel, and it does have a happy ending. :) I’m going to point out though, that the story does not end here! There are books after it about this couple as well. This book and the subject matter made do do the eyeballs…, you know the o.O eyeballs. It also intrigued me though because not only am I an avid reader, I’m an avid gamer. So I wanted to see how a series on gaming could turnout. I can’t say I’m unhappy or displeased! This book was well worth it. The book opens up with Mia and her Manifesto about virginity. This character is not stupid by any means, she’s extremely smart. She is woman working a job, with a very popular gaming blog on the side that pays the majority of her bills. Mia’s also spends most of her spare time studying for a test so she can get into medical school to be an oncologist someday. So you may be like I was, sitting there wondering why in the heck a girl who seems to have it all together, would auction off her virginity like this. Well, I can’t tell word for word, because that would spoil a big part of the book. I will just say that when I figured it out, it made sense. Would I do this? No, not even remotely but do I understand why Mia is? Completely. Adam Drake is a millionaire gamer. Really, he’s not that old but he’s also a workaholic in his mid-twenties. CEO of his own company, and having been the architect of one of the most popular gaming MMO’s out there, he’s used to control. Controlling situations, and people. He tends to get what he wants, although he’s not arrogant about it. He ends up winning Mia’s auction, but let me just say he has ulterior motives. There are reasons why he wants to win it and sets out to… there was never any question to him of who -would- win it. Here is the part that massively threw me, and Mia as well! Adam won the auction, but he doesn’t want to follow through with it. He keeps finding ways around it, so that he can spend more time with her, but never letting anything fully happen, so that he can see her again and again. The chemistry between them is there too, so it leaves you wondering why, repeatedly. I gave the book four starts out of five, I can’t really pinpoint what it was that made it a four for me, but it is a solid four. I’m also going to point out that this is one of the harder reviews I’ve written. I was discussing with a friend even, how in the world I was going to review it because you have to be -so- careful not to give spoilers. It’d be a mine field of them in here. The book was great, the writing well done and I thought the characters were fantastic. The book is basically like an onion, you get more and more layers revealed the more you read into it. Last but not least, as I mentioned in the beginning, the second book in this series is about the same couple, but it’s told from Adam’s POV this time. At Any Price is told completely from Mia’s. I find it an interesting contrast!
