Children's Literature
Using colored clay models, this is baby's first words dictionary. Presented in board book style, the subjects are all found at home¾house, living room, kitchen, playtime and bedroom. Even toddlers with limited language ability can point to each item as the reader names them. Although photos are not used, the items are realistic enough to provide instant identification. With 6 to 10 items per page, there is enough to provide interest but not overwhelm. Sure to be a favorite first book. 2001, Usborne, . Ages 6 mo. to 3. Reviewer: Meredith Kiger

Toddlers and preschoolers will love spotting, naming, and talking about the super-cute clay illustrations of familiar objects they find at home. Part of the "Usborne First Words" series. 2001, EDC Publishing, $4.95. Ages 3 mo. to 5. Reviewer: A. Braga SOURCE: Parent Council, September 2001 (Vol. 9, No. 1)
