Peggy Knight¿s ¿At Home With Johnny, June and Mother Maybelle¿ perfectly complements her other two books; sitting down with this photo album is like pulling out a cherished family album and revisiting all one¿s favorite people and places. Each photograph comes with its own short anecdote, explaining where the picture was taken or what was happening at the time. Ms. Knight has assembled a remarkable collection: June checking on her flowers at her old Virginia homeplace, the last night at the Grand Ole Opry performed at the Ryman Auditorium, Johnny and June backstage after concert performances, and photos from The House of Cash in Hendersonville, Tenn. My personal favorites are page 10 (Johnny¿s eyes ¿ that intense expression), and page 66, where Johnny and George Jones share a hearty laugh over Jones¿ dressing like the Man in Black. The book is not only a keeper to be viewed time and again, but would make a lovely gift for your favorite Cash fan. It makes me wish Christmas would come a little sooner. Was this review helpful?
