Barnes & Noble - Amy Barkat
We dare you and your kids to sit still while listening to the oh-so-fabulous stylings of Ralph Covert. His follow-up to the bestselling Ralph's World is filled with toe-tapping tunes and fun, folksy guitar licks that will have youngsters dancing till dawn -- or at least bedtime. Clever lyrics and catchy melodies fill this lively album. From celebrating life "At the Bottom of the Sea" to letting his imagination run wild in "Baseball Dreams," Covert is a master at making everything fun. Who else could make counting the "Eighteen Wheels on a Big Rig" a hilarious affair? Adults will find it hard to contain themselves when listening to "The Coffee Song," a very passionate ode ...

Adults will find it hard to contain themselves when listening to "The Coffee Song," a very passionate ode to those caffeine addicted parental units. Covert gives equally stellar treatment to his cover songs -- the Banana Splits theme song will always be a crowd pleaser, and Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon" is an awesome example of Covert's talent for re-creating genius. From extolling the virtues of psychic cats to celebrating the many ways to annoy baby siblings, At the Bottom of the Sea is a bona fide hit.

    This disk is great!

We have been seeing Ralph in person at Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago for years now. So glad he has 2 albums. My 3 love them and my husband and I like listening to them too! I highly recommend the Coffee song on a day when you get up too early. It can't help but make you smile. I do think the 1st album appeals to the younger set, but At the Bottom of the Sea scores big with my 6 and 4 year old.

Kids like it, adults do too.

The second Ralph's World CD picks up right where the first left off. I highly recommend this CD for road trips as the adults will like the music as well as the kids, which cannot be said for all Children's music. <P>There is a great variety of music, from blues to bluegrass, on the CD. This is nice because it introduces musical types that your kids may not have heard before and it helps to keep you sane and sing along. The two Ralph's World CD's are my most highly recommended of all the Children's CD's we have, you cannot go wrong here.
