Overview

AT THE EARTH'S CORE....The author relates how, traveling in the Sahara desert, he has encountered a remarkable vehicle and its pilot, David Innes, a man with a remarkable story to tell. The setting - feuding Stone Age civilizations at the Earth's core! 150 Pages in print!

David is a mining heir who finances the experimental "iron mole," an excavating vehicle designed by his elderly inventor friend Abner Perry. In a test run, they discover the vehicle cannot be turned, and it burrows 500 miles into the Earth's crust, emerging into the unknown interior world of Pellucidar.
In Burroughs' concept, the Earth is a hollow shell with Pellucidar as the internal surface of that shell.

Wow, is this book ever exciting and adventurous! A real page turner. If you like monsters, and prehistoric creatures, adventure, escapes, chases, etc, then book is a must read in any form. It starts strong and stays strong to the end.

Now for the sequel: "Pellucidar".

While I found the beginning to have a bit of a slow clunky start, it quickly builds momentum. Once I was engaged, it became a fabulous world full of vivid and interesting characters. A well-rounded environment and good read for a variety of audiences. Rating - Idea premise: A-, Content: B+, and Overall: B++.

Once I downloaded this book I was like its ok but as I got into the chapeters and the lives of perry and the old man it was like I was there with them in the other world. The writer did an excellent job in describing the other world. This book is a keeper I think that I will read it again. A+++

Very good read, but it was probably not proofread. Very many punctuation errors which messed up the flow of the story, but I loved it anyway.
