## NOT WORTH IT. ***CLIFFHANGER*** 1st book is 104 pages = 4 bucks 2nd book 107 pages = 4 bucks Seriously? 8 dollars for barely 200 pages is outrageous. Heroine = needy woman who begs for the hero's attention Hero = arrogant, secretive, runs hot & cold. ENDING SUCKS

The Alpha Crew is a heart-pounding series with steamy romance and non-stop action. At the Edge is part 1 of Laura Griffin’s new series Alpha Crew. Emma Wright is the personal assistant to the wife of a US Ambassador. Moving to the Philippines had been the new start in life she needed. But her position puts her in danger as their plane crashes in the deep jungle of a remote island. Emma is surrounded by dangerous creatures and rebels. She keeps her wits to survive and is thankful when she is rescued by an ultra-elite SEAL team. Ryan Owen, the leader of the Alpha Crew SEAL team, has been on many missions. But the mission to rescue the plane crash survivors feels different. The moment he lays eyes on Emma’s file he is drawn to her. And when they meet in the jungle there is an instant attraction and connection. But Ryan must put his feelings aside and focus on getting Emma and his team home safely. Weeks have passed after the crash and Emma finds herself in danger again. Someone is trying to kill her and Ryan will do everything to keep her safe. But can they avoid their attraction? You’ll have to read this book to find out! At the Edge is the first book I’ve read from Laura Griffin and I was blown away from her writing. The story has action and suspense that had me reading quickly to find out what happened next. Ryan and Emma’s story was sizzling from the moment they met. It wasn’t just the steamy physical attraction but it was also the emotional connection they made. Emma is a really good strong female character. Even though she is in danger Emma stays calm and does what it takes to survive. At the Edge is perfect for fans of Romantic Suspense with military heroes. This ends in a cliffhanger and I’m diving in to part 2, Edge of Surrender, next!

Love Ms. Griffin tracer series, so I was excited to read this black ops book. It was just ok, don't think I will buy part II, it didn't leave me longing for the next book.

Right about the time when you get all geared up...the book was over. I didn't like that it was split into two different books. Emma was rescued by Ryan and his crew after the plane she was on crashed. The sparks were immediate between them and you knew they weren't done with each other. Too short and glad the next one in the series is available so you can continue on to see if their paths will cross again.

I really enjoyed Emma and Ryan. Emma is headstrong and not a weak wimpy woman. I really liked her feistiness and she did keep Ryan on his toes in trying to protect her. Ryan, a tough ALPHA SEAL, also showed his human side in his reactions to Emma. It was an easy and fast read, and if you love romantic suspense stories, then this is one I recommend, but I would buy both parts, because you won't want to wait. Although I am not a fan of books sold in parts, I was lucky enough to have both so I will be reading part 2 right away. I am not sure who started this trend, but I think in the long run it is hurting authors in selling their books. I am taking off half a star because it is not a finished book, and I can only review on the content of what I read. At least in this one, you were told ahead of time that it was in 2 parts. I want to thank NetGalley and Pocket Star for gifting me with an ARC and only asking for an honest review.

The beginning to a new series that is absolutely fantastic! The detail written to explain a very stressful situation was beautifully executed. Emotions running high and a situation no one really finds themselves in makes this an excellent read. The suspense is believable and flows nicely.

***ARC Copy provided by the publisher and NetGalley*** I enjoy books where the hero is a Seal because, well, who doesn't? I also appreciate it when the heroine of the book is capable and has a brain. Laura Griffin writes Ryan and Emma in such a way as they feel like real people. They react as they should and the things they say make sense for who they each are within the story. You like them, you want them to survive, and you want to see what happens next. The suspense is well done, the action feels realistic and the emotions are palpable. The book starts with a bang, well a crash. And goes from there. I was actually expecting a lot more of the first book to take place in the jungle after the plane crash and was pleasantly surprised at the pacing of the book and the way it takes you from scene to scene at speed that it fast enough to keep your interest without being too fast that you have a hard time keeping up. It is hard to say a lot without being full of spoilers, and the book definitely has a lot of fun to be spoiled! Highly recommend. 4.5 Stars

4 - "I said don't call me ma'am." Stars! At the Edge is the first in Laura Griffin’s new Alpha Crew series. Part one of two this novella explores the budding relationship between SEAL, Ryan Owen and Emma Wright, the woman he initially rescues from the Philippine Jungle, after she survives a plane crash. This is my first book by this author, and to say she packs an awful lot in to a somewhat low page count would be an understatement, be warned though that this is only the beginning, although luckily you only have to wait a few weeks for the finale. "They sent me to rescue you." Five weeks after their somewhat unconventional meeting Emma looks up Ryan, wanting to thank him for what he did for her but to also see if he knows why, everyone is trying to cover up the real facts of the plane crash. It is also pretty apparent that the chemistry that simmered between them in the jungle is still present and ready to combust now that they are back on US soil. But someone is not happy that Emma is digging for the truth, and Ryan once again ends up protecting her, but this time from an unknown entity. This novella ends on a cliffy, be warned, but as previously stated the second part Edge of Surrender releases 28th March. This is a romantic suspense series with huge potential, and I hope that the author has a few ideas up her sleeve for some of Ryan’s SEAL Team Colleagues with future books. ARC generously provided via Netgalley, and it was my pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of this book. Let me tell you, I was VERY lucky because the book was so good! Packed full of action with characters you will fall in love with this book had it all Emma s rescued by a team of elite SEALS after being the lone survivor of a plane crash that went down in the rain forest of a small island in the Philippians, killing her boss, the wife of the ambassador. Her life is put in danger as she works to clear the pilots name when she discovers that the official verdict for the crash was being put down as pilot error. Ryan was a part of the team of SEALS that rescued Emma and is now determined to keep her safe as the danger escalates around her! AS usual Larua Griffin does an excellent job pulling you into the story and leaving you wanting more! Next Please!

I am not sure why this story is broken up in 2 parts but it felt like a novella including both parts. Wasn't her best.
