BC Christian News"I picked up this book expecting a nice afternoon read, not one that would challenge me to think about life and death choices. But Tacoma, Washington writer Linda Nichols did just that. At the time all of North America was waiting to hear word about Terri Schaivo; debates were going on everywhere you turned. Nichols book hit so close to that reality.
The novel focuses on an estranged couple, Sam and Annie Truelove. Sam is a doctor, and performs an emergency procedure on Kelly Bright- who ends up in a vegetative state. Her parents disagree on the measures being taken to extend her life; a legal battle ensues, and Kelly’s father has her feeding tube removed. A key element in the plot is that Kelly, a vibrant and enthusiastic young girl before her accident, had one goal in life: to see her family come to Christ.
Nichols caused me to questions how I would handle the situation. More importantly, her book emphasizes the way God’s plan surfaces in the most unlikely of places."
